Mobile Devices that we like.

The PocketFMS Oudie.Selecting the proper Mobile Device for use with PocketFMS Mobile can be a challenge; there are many variables to consider and many of these are quite personal in nature. In order to give you some idea, we have created a list of what our preferred devices at this time are. These devices are guaranteed to work OK with PocketFMS.

First of all: the PocketFMS Oudie!

Our preferred CE device is the Oudie, built and developed by Naviter specifically for aviation use. It has a large, 5" anti-reflective screen of 400 nits, so you will be able to see the Moving Map even in bright sunlight conditions. A GPS receiver is of course integrated, and - exceptional in this category and price range - it has a serial port so you can attach a device to it such as a FLARM receiver, an HSI, an ADS-b TCAS device or even your autopilot!

The Oudie comes very complete with a host of cables, a suction mount and cradle - and with PocketFMS Mobile and Desktop pre-installed, included are 6 months of free updates for both data and software! Connect your Oudie via USB to any Windows PC and PocketFMS Desktop gets started on that PC - allowing you to download the latest info and update the Oudie in one single click. After disconnecting, no traces remain on the PC. Many additional accessories are available for the Oudie from the Light Aviation Pilot Shop, shipping worldwide - How easy do you want it to be . .

You can order your pre-installed Oudie right here.

Looking for a little bigger? Here's Ready2Fly!

The Ready2Fly tablet. How's about a 10" Windows 7 Tablet with PocketFMS pre-installed? Meet the Ready2Fly, which besides functioning as your Moving Map and Flight Planner can also easily hold your plane's Pilot Operating Handbook, checklists, 3rd party approach plates and any other useful tools you may have.

The comfortable touch screen, the 1.66 GHz Atom processor, a 32 GB solid state harddisk, WiFi and optional UMTS make it usable on any location. A host of options is available, and the Tablet really comes Ready to Fly!
