TomTom Navigator.

Most of the time, TomTom and PocketFMS get along pretty well. Sometimes, however, theTomTom GPS driver locks the COMport for its own use exclusively, disallowing PocketFMS to access the GPS port. If the need arises to get TomTom and PocketFMS out of each others hairs, do the following:

On the Pocket PC, uninstall the TomTom ~GPS application (that and only that one). Don't do it via the PC, do it on the PDA directly. The uninstall routine will ask for a soft reset. After that, everything will work.

  • The COM port will be free. Both Crux and PocketFMS will run.
  • TomTom, including the GPS status application, will work normally.
  • TomTom ~GPS will still be shown as an installed program in the list.
