Dear Pilot,

Today we released our latest version of EasyVFR, version 3.60.2. This version has some major new features and is the next step in our ever continuing innovation process! Please allow us to name just a few of this release’s highlights:

  German circuits.

- German Traffic Circuits.

EasyVFR now supports the use of the OpenAir based German Traffic Circuits definitions. Fly 'em now as they were meant to be flown!

- Significant performance improvement.

We managed to speed up the map rendering significantly, resulting in a very noticeable performance improvement.

- South Africa support.

We added base set data (AeroData, Road & Rivers maps, terrain data) for South Africa. The rest of Africa's base map & terrain data will very soon be added as well.

- New menu system for quick access and rough air operations.

We reworked our menu system and replaced it with a combination of icons and text. The result is a fast and responsive control center which makes it a breeze to quickly command EasyVFR, even in rough air and high workload situations.

- Dynon SkyView WiFi FlightPlan transfer.

WiFi your FP to SkyView. Using the new WiFi feature of your Dynon SkyView EFIS, EasyVFR is capable of transferring FlightPlans to & from SkyView systems. This makes flight planning and last-minute in-flight changes a breeze! Specially if your Dynon SkyView is connected to an Auto-Pilot your workload will be reduced significantly.

- Interface with Wearables (Smart Watches) to use vibration alerts.

With the increasing availability of Smart Watches that can communicate with phones and tablets, we did some experiments to see how useful these could be when flying. We found the vibrating feature of these watches are a perfect addition for the alerting sound that EasyVFR gives in various situations. Pilots complained about alerting sounds from tablets and phones cannot be heard in noisy cockpits, and this vibrating is a perfect way to draw attention when needed. Smart Watches - click!
We realize it is a first step into new territory, but we do believe there are benefits to be gained here so we decided to take these first baby steps!

Please feel very welcome to drop us a visit at the Aero next week - hall A6, booth 015, and fly safe y'all!
